TECHNICAL EXCURSIONS

A) KARLOVY VARY (Carlsbad)

Spa town located in western Bohemia which gained its reputation by the discovery of natural hot mineral springs.

B) KARLSTEIN CASTLE (medieval castle, founded and built by Emperor Charles IV between 1348 - 1355)

Special attention paid to the documentation of the gothic wall paintings (2006-2009).

08:00 departure from Prague

09:00 arrival at Karlstein castle

10:00-13:00 excursion of the castle incl the church of Saint Mary, the chapell of Sain Catharina  and the chapell of the Holly Cross

13:00-14:00 lunch

15:30 departure back to Prague

C) KUTNA HORA (Due to the prosperous silver mines Kutná Hora became, after Prague, the second most important town of the Bohemian Kingdom in the Middle Ages.)

10:00-12:00 excursion of the Convent church of Assumption of Virgin Mary and the Ossuary

12:00-14:00 lunch and walk through the city to the Church of Saint Barbara

14:00-16:00 excursion of the Church of Saint Barbara, excursion will be guided by Ing. Jan Vinař

18:00 return to Prague

 

D) ZELENA HORA  (The pilgrimage church of St. John of Nepomuk on Green Hill is the highest achievement of his work and a unique architectural monument, which was included on the Word Heritage of UNESCO in December 1994.) You can download the information leaflat here. 08:00 departure from Prague

10:30 arrivat at Žďár, separation of the group into 2 or 4 groups to get approx. 20 person per one smaller group

11:00-13:00 excursion of the Pilgrimage Church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelená hora

13:00-14:00 Lunch (restaurant Táferna)

14:00-16:00 excursion of the castle and the church

(second and eventually 4th group will have the excusrion the other way arround)

18:30 return to Prague
