Marienbad "Kladruby Monastery is not far from the town of Stříbro. There was a former Benedictine monastery founded by the Bohemian Prince Vladislav I at the beginning of the 12th century. The present appearance dates back to the first third of the l8th century. In 1785 the Abbey was dissolved. This area is dominated by the Church of St Mary designed by Jan B. Santini in Baroque-Gothic style. The most notable part of the abbey is the square New Convent, built to a design by K. I. Dienzenhofer. Prominent artists of that period, for example the Asam brothers, K. Legat and the sculptor’s workshop of M. B. Braun, took part in decorating and furnishing the interior. The library from the l9th century plus the collection of statues from Valeč, sculptured by masters from the group of M. B. Braun, are also worth seeing. In the year 1994, the monastery was added on the UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage List. After the Kladruby Monastery you will visit Mariánské Lázně – the youngest spa of the famous triangle of the West Bohemian spas. It is located in Slavkovský Forest, altitude 567–626 meters above sea level. Mariánské Lázně has been endowed with a lot of natural beauties and sources of mineral springs. In Mariánské Lázně and the surrounding area, there are 100 mineral springs with carbonic acid and mineral salts out of which 53 springs are used. In Mariánské Lázně we can meet a lot of architectural styles. As the gem of the city, let us mention the cast-iron colonnade of 1889.
The trip is included in the registration fee of delegates and accompanying persons.
