Public transport

The New Museum Building is situated at the southern end of the Wenceslas square in the city of Prague across the street from the Historical Museum Building which is facing the square.

The best connection is by underground (Metro) - lines A and C, station “MUZEUM” (where lines A and C are crossing). Fares: A single trip ticket is 32 CZK (90 min) or 24 CZK (30 min) depending on time of travel. More information here: http://www.dpp.cz/en/fares-in-prague/

Trams and buses do not have stops at the museum but tram lines 3,9,14 and 24 stop in the Vodičkova Street approximately in the middle of Wenceslas square, about 10 minutes away by foot.

 

Coming from the airport

Transport from the airport is possible by taxi or bus.

By taxi: Taxi fares are approximately 650 CZK / 25 EUR to the city centre (National Museum).For detailed info see this website: http://www.pragueairport.co.uk/taxi.htm

By bus: No. 119 goes to the Dejvická Metro station. Chose the train to the direction “Depo Hostivař” and your station is “Museum” (it is sixth stop). For detailed info see this website: http://www.pragueairport.co.uk/public-transport.htm

 

By train

International intercity trains stop in the Main Railway Station (Hlavní nádraží). This station can be reached by Metro line C (direction Háje) from the National Museum. It is also possible to reach The New Museum Building from the main station by foot (about 500 meters).

 

Coming by bus

Prague is connected with many major European cities with bus lines. See e.g. here for more information.

 

By car

There is a double carriage way in front and behind of the museum buildings (direction Brno – Dresden (see the map). The parking place is in the Historical museum yard. You will get there through the northern gate of the Historical museum building facing the New Museum Building. If you decide to come by car, please contact us in advance, we need to reserve a parking place for you.
